Nigel Armstrong, Concertmaster of the Santa Cruz Symphony, is emerging as a dynamic and creative artist both within and beyond the realm of classical music. Nigel enjoys playing “fiddle music” of various sorts …exploring different traditions of musical expression such as jazz, fiddle, and tango; Nigel will be showing off this new passion through a benefit event for the Santa Cruz Symphony League, hosted by Kuumbwa Jazz Center.
Joining Nigel at this event is Mads Tolling, an internationally renowned violinist, composer, and two-time Grammy Award-winner from Denmark. As a classical violinist, Mads discovered his passion for American music at the age of 14 when his father gave him a Miles Davis cassette tape that changed his life forever.
