THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN CANCELED.

Prokofiev’s mastery of cultural and political elements reaches its apotheosis in his visionary Symphony No. 5.; this monumental work also headlines the Santa Cruz Symphony’s fourth concert of the season: “Metamorphoses”, on March 28 and 29, 2020.

The program opens with Moncayo’s Huapango which celebrates zapateado dance traditions of Mexico, while Massenet’s breathtakingly beautiful Meditation from Thais and Saint-Saëns’ thrillingly virtuosic Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso will feature Klein String Competition 2nd prize winner Julian Rhee.

Join the Santa Cruz Symphony League for the fourth preview of the season at 4 p.m. for a reception at the home of Peter and Mary Ann Orr – 16 Hollins Drive, Santa Cruz.
