Aaron Copland, noted American composer, 1900 - 1990, will be the subject of our monthly online gathering, presented by Dan Rutan. The two works, both written in 1942, show two different aspects of American life and culture.
The first of the two pieces, “Fanfare for the Common Man”, as performed by the National Symphony Orchestra on June 6, 2017, is a response to the US entry into WWII. Please listen by clicking the video below, and be inspired!
The second piece may take you back to your younger days when you listen to Copland’s “Hoedown”, an energetic finale to his 1942 ballet, ‘Rodeo’. Enjoy and be energized!
